Having a positive and happy mindset is a boon for a thriving life. When you thrive from inside your outside life will automatically thrive. These are the scientific and effective ideas on improving your life.
1.FIND OUT YOUR NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
Your first and foremost work is to find out your negative thoughts about yourself and others. You may blame, complain, criticize and get over concerned about something or somebody in life. Write those thoughts. The first step of any change is Awareness. You can change something when you know about them first.Make a heading with My Negative Thoughts. Write down your negative thoughts under this. In this journal, write down your way of thinking and perceiving different things like: yourself, your work, your parents, your spouse, society and politics. Thoughts need to be written down for not becoming dominant over you.

3.IDENTIFY YOUR STRENGTHS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
What you focus on grows. So when you focus on your strengths and past successes, you create more positive emotional experiences and attitudes. This will help you become stronger in dealing with adversity in your life. Write down all your past achievements, however small they may be and your positive attributes. Look at your past successes and imagine vividly about it. See what you had seen, hear what you had heard and feel what you had felt then. Use your strengths in your daily life. For example, if your strength is kindness, then deliberately choose this for one day and keep on behaving kindly with all others. You can choose to focus and act on your one trait for one day or more than that (like a week) as per your choice.
4. BE GRATEFUL AND COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
Everything around you is having some value. There are miracles everywhere. You must have many things in life which must be going well. Every moment of your life you have a choice whether to focus on what is going or working well or on what is not. You must have many things and people in your life as blessings so write them or those down in your journal. So every night before going to bed, write down three things you are thankful for and why you are thankful. These may be people or their behaviors or things in your life. Spend a few minutes reliving and savoring what you have written you are thankful for. This will help you remember the positive things in your life. You will become positive and happy by this simple yet very effective practice.5. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE
You as a person are the reflection of closed people around you. Your personality is shaped by the people around you. So spend time with people who are positive and resourceful. It is not selfishness. It is wisdom. Spend your time with people who lift you and your mood up. Make a list of people who are positive and who are not. Make a plan to spend more time with the positive people and stay away from those who are not behaving positively.
Surround yourself with people who make you feel appreciated, valued and inspired. By spending your time with these people, you are allowing yourself to become a better and happier person dear.
6. SMILE & LAUGH
Smile and laughter boost your mood and increase your ability to react positively to things and people around you. Like a child, smile and laugh without reasons. Children remain happy because they smile a lot without any reason. Recite loudly HO-HO-HA-HA for few seconds many times a day. It will lift your mood instantly. Attend comedy show, watch comedy movies or videos, read jokes or mix with people who are funny. This will not only make you happier but also make you better human being.
7. MEDITATE TO BECOME GREAT
Meditation is not something which is nice to have; it is must to have for a healthy, happy and fulfilled life. Meditations have been proved to change the chemistry of brain toward health and happiness. Your power to handle stress becomes easier with meditation. You will sleep better with a cool mind and work smarter with a focused and creative mind with the help of meditations. You will feel calmer and cooler with meditation.
Start meditating with focusing on your breath. Start with 1 to 3 deep long breaths. During breathing, close your eyes and keep your mind focused on your breathing. You can count ONE with each exhalation. Slowly increase the duration to 2 to 10 minutes. You can also meditate on mantras, quotations and your dreams. Be mindful of your thoughts, feelings, body sensations and surroundings in the moment without judging them good or bad is a great way to get relaxed and feel happy. Accept your thoughts and feelings without judging them. Acknowledge that they are real and then move to other thoughts coming to your mind.
